Child Evangelism Fellowship® is pleased to partner with a well-known local quartet for a concert in Wausau. They're called Living River, four former high school buddies who blend country gospel, rock, a cappella, and contemporary Christian styles with their love for four-part power harmony. Their goal is to communicate to their audience, with word and song, the gospel of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And they do it with their own special joy, enthusiasm and style. Honoring and glorifying God is always paramount to the men of Living River.
In today's entertainment world it is not unusual to see performers place their own personal gain and glory ahead of everything else. This is not so with the men of Living River. For them, it is God first, family second, and then their music. It's those priorities that have helped Living River bring honor and glory to their Creator as they live out Psalm 95:2 and “come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.” Perry, Rich, Bryan and Jeff would have it no other way.
The concert is free and a voluntary offering will be taken. Proceeds, in its entirety, will go to the ministry of CEF, thanks to a generous donation that covers the cost of the concert. CEF reaches literally hundreds of children in central Wisconsin, thousands across the state and millions around the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You will hear personal testimony of the impact CEF has had in the lives of people from your own community.
Come and enjoy a night of great music that glorifies God, some fun and humor, fellowship, and a glimpse into the ministry of CEF.
Saturday, February 18th, 6:30 pm Immanuel Baptist Church 5100 Hummingbird Rd Wausau WI

Solid Reasons, Inc., a multi-denominational Christian ministry based in Milwaukee, has announced confirmed speakers for the 2012 Immersion apologetics conference.
The Immersion Conference will kick off at 7pm on Friday, March 2 with a showing of Lee Strobel’s documentary “The Case for Faith,” featuring J.P. Moreland and Craig Hazen. In “The Case for Faith,” journalist Lee Strobel investigates two of the most emotional objections to Christianity: Why is Jesus the only way to God? And how could a loving God exist if there is evil and suffering in the world? After the film, there will be a Q&A session with J.P. Moreland, Craig Hazen, and Illustra Media.
The 2012 Immersion Conference will continue on Saturday March 3, 9am-5pm featuring keynote speakers, live worship, lunch, and a variety of breakout session topics.
“This conference is for believers of all education levels, of all levels of faith, and skeptics alike. We’re reaching out to people who are thirsty to learn more about ‘why they believe what they believe’ and how they can be sure their beliefs are grounded in both truth and knowledge,” said Philip Alexander, director of Solid Reasons.
Craig Hazen is a Professor and Director of the Christian Apologetics Program at Biola University, the editor of the philosophy journal, Philosophia Christi, and has lectured all over North America and Europe, including in the White House and on Capitol Hill. His keynote topic will be “Christianity in a World of Religions.”
J.P. Moreland is one of the leading evangelical thinkers of our day, a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the Talbot School of Theology, and is a frequent contributor to popular Christian magazines and scholarly journals. He served over a decade with Campus Crusade for Christ, and has planted two churches. His keynote topic will be “Loving God with All Your Mind.”
Other topics will include Why God Allows Evil; How Worldviews make a ‘World’ of Difference; The Shroud of Turin; Textual Criticism; The Case for Life (pro-life); Fulfilled Prophecies of Jesus; Refuting Mythological Similarities to Christianity, World Religions, and more.
The conference will be held at Poplar Creek Church, 17770 W. Cleveland Ave. in New Berlin, Wisconsin the first weekend in March.
Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased online at www.Immersion2012.com or by calling (414) 376-6317. All attendees who purchase tickets in advance will also receive a free DVD at the conference - their choice of “The Case for Faith,” “The Case for Christ,” or “The Case for a Creator.”
Building a Grace-based Marriage: Tools for living with an (Im)perfect Spouse. Author Gary Thomas is coming back to Wausau for an unprecedented third appearance. His best-sellling book, "Sacred Marriage," has helped millions of marriages.

The 2012 Wisconsin Christian News Ministry Expo has been set for March 10 and will once again be held in the center of the state - Wausau.
Cedar Creek Mall, located just off I-39 at exit 185, just south of Wausau, will host the event for the fourth year in a row. WCN publisher Rob Pue stated, “Cedar Creek has been an ideal location for us because it is centrally located in the state, there is plenty of room, and we also have the opportunity to witness to the general public, so the Expo is not just for church-goers, but an opportunity to do outreach as well.”
This year’s Expo has been streamlined a bit, but many great new opportunities have also been added. For the first time, the Expo will feature the theme of ‘The Christian Camp Experience!’ The Christian Camp Experience will take place in the Mall’s Center Court, also known as the “Youth Zone.” In the Youth Zone, visitors will find exhibits by many Wisconsin-based Christian camps. At each “Campsite” there will be a special activity. For example, one camp is planning to offer ‘Veggie Racers” -- kids can build a racecar using a cucumber, nuts and bolts and then race their car down a track to win prizes. Each camp will offer their own unique activity, and there will even be an “indoor campfire” where visitors can sing campfire songs, tell stories, etc.
Also in the Youth Zone, the Expo will feature the popular “Are You Smarter Than a Bible Quizzer?” game, presented by Headwaters Christian Youth of Rhinelander. Contestants of ALL ages can take part, and win some fun prizes - if they can answer the questions correctly!
Other features include puppet shows, carnival games and Christian Illusionists The M & M Team.
And the best part? As visitors enter the Youth Zone, they will be given a “Golden Ticket,” which will contain a list of all the camps present. They take their ticket to every camp’s booth to get it validated, then turn it in for a chance to win a FREE week’s worth of camp at the camp of their choice. NOTE: drawings will be held on the main Music Stage at the end of the day, and contestants must be present to win.
Of course the Expo is all about showcasing the many wonderful Christian ministries and businesses from Wisconsin, and there will be nearly 100 exhibit booths throughout the mall. Expo visitors can talk with well known ministry leaders from all over Wisconsin and meet many of their favorite WCN writers in person!
A second “Golden Ticket” opportunity will be available to Expo guests as well. Simply take their other Golden Ticket to every exhibit booth to be validated, and then there will be a drawing at the end of the day for a new Apple iPad, valued at $500. Once again, contestants must be present at the end of the final concert of the day, during the drawings, to win.
As with all WCN Ministry Expos, a highlight is the Music Stage. This year, WCN is bringing in National Recording Artist RANDY STONEHILL for a special live concert to finish out the day, starting at 4:30.
But first things first: the day begins at 9:00 am, as visitors can begin viewing the Exhibit booths and talk with ministry leaders. A Church Service will be held on the Music Stage at 10:00, provided by Wausau’s Shepherd’s House Church.
Music will then follow with acoustic guitar originals by Jeff Tyberg at 11:00 am; Country-style Gospel withHarvest Wind at Noon; Acoustic original music in the easy listening/folk style by Pastor Rowell Puedivan at 1:00 pm; the always unique and fun MPK Christian Celtic Band, featuring authentic Scottish fiddling, Celtic and Contemporary Christian music, at 2:00 pm; and the ever-popular David and John Yonker, playing heart-rending original songs of praise along with some of your best loved hymns and praise choruses, starting at 3:00.
At 4:00, KEYNOTE SPEAKER VIC ELIASON of VCY America will give a gripping message and call to salvation in Christ, amidst the backdrop of today’s current events. Vic is the host of the popular nationwide“Crosstalk” program on the VCY America network, which reaches nearly 2 million people daily.
Following Vic’s message, national recording Artist and one of the pioneers of Contemporary Christian Music,RANDY STONEHILL will take the stage. Randy is in the midst of his world tour following the release of his 24th solo album, Spirit Walk. After touring Canada, Europe, as well as Australia and New Zealand with Casting Crowns, he will be joining us for the WCN Ministry Expo in Wausau!
The day will finish with prize drawings for the free weeks at camp, and the new Apple iPad.
Exhibit booths will be open continuously throughout the day, with much to see and do for the whole family.
“The Expo is like our annual WCN Family Reunion,” Pue added, stating, “It is the one time during the year when all our Wisconsin Christian News Ministry Partners are all together in one place. It’s great fun for the public to come and meet some of their favorite writers, learn about all the various ministries in the state, and how they can become involved in a ministry in their area, hear some inspiring music and a stirring message that will touch your heart and move you to action. You will leave different than you were when you came after a day at the Expo!”
Admission is free to all events, and there will be food and refreshments available throughout the day at the Mall.
NOTE: all times noted are approximate, so it is best to arrive early to any particular event or performance you would like to see.
