Abortionist Kermit Gosnell Convicted of First-Degree Murder

Today, Dr. Kermit Gosnell, the Philadelphia abortionist who ran the so-called “house of horrors,” was convicted by a  jury of his peers of first-degree murder in the deaths of three babies who were born alive and then killed with scissors. Gosnell was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for the 2009 drug-overdose of Karnamaya Mongar.

The jury found Gosnell guilty of murdering Babies A, C, and D, babies born alive and later killed. Baby A, who was photographed by a clinic employee, was nearly 30 weeks along when he was aborted. He was so big that Gosnell reported said the baby could “walk to the bus.” A second baby was alive for approximately 20 minutes before his neck was snipped. Baby D was born in a toilet. The Philadelphia jury acquitted Dr. Gosnell of the death of Baby E who reportedly whimpered before Gosnell snipped his spinal cord.

Liberty Counsel Files Appellate Brief in the Most Comprehensive Challenge Pending to ObamaCare

Richmond, VA – Following the Supreme Court’s directive to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Virginia regarding ObamaCare, Liberty Counsel today filed itsbrief in the case of Liberty University v. Geithner. Liberty Counsel represents Liberty University and two private individuals in this case. While there are other legal challenges to the employer contraceptive/abortifacient mandate, Liberty Counsel’s challenge is the most comprehensive challenge pending in the country.

Liberty Counsel’s lawsuit challenges (1) the employer mandate for all employers; (2) the abortion mandate for religious employers; (3) the abortion mandate for individuals; and (4) the entire law because tax bills must originate in the House, and ObamaCare originated in the Senate.

War-Weary Syrians to Unite in Prayer; Ask Christians Worldwide to Join Them

Most churches in Syria will unite in prayer on Saturday, May 11, in many places around the war-torn nation. This will be an extraordinary show of unity of Christian denominations in Syria, where the on-going civil war has claimed over 70,000 lives.

Syrian Christians are asking their brothers and sisters around the world to pray and fast with them on the Day of Prayer for Syria on May 11.

"As Christians in Syria continue to suffer from the devastating effects of the two-year-old civil war including killings, kidnappings, homelessness, lack of food and shelter and closing of schools; they are also seeing that God's hand is at work as all denominations are joining in passionate prayer," says Open Doors USA interim President/CEO Steve Ridgway. "Christians in Syria know only Jesus can bring redemption and true peace.
