Please explain the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives and what does Romans 8:26 mean when it says, "the Spirit intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express?"

What the Scriptures say regarding the person and work role of the Holy Spirit must be clearly understood due to the fact that the Spirit of God is not the only supernatural being at work in the world. Satan is also a spiritual being (Eph. 6:11-12) and a master at mingling truth with error. It is absolutely essential for Christians to understand FROM THE SCRIPTURES what is and what is not the working of the Holy Spirit. What is truth, what is myth?

No. 1 The Holy Spirit first appeared on the Day of Pentecost in the book of Acts, true or false? This would be FALSE. In the Old Testament, we first read about the Spirit in the very first story of the Bible (Gen. 1:1-2) when He hovered over this dead planet before CREATION. It is neat to see that the New Testament introduces Him in the first New Testament story hovering over the land and specifically, over the city of Nazareth and more specifically, over a virgin named Mary in order for there to be the INCARNATION.

The truth is, the Spirit is mentioned many times throughout the Old Testament. Dare we say that Old Testament men and women of faith (Hebrews 11, some of them inspired writers) were not filled with the Holy Spirit?
