The Creation Education Center: Defending the Word of God

Since this is my very first monthly column in the Wisconsin Christian News, I will take this opportunity to introduce myself and the ministry.

My name is Jay Seegert and I am the President & Principal Lecturer for the Creation Education Center (www.CECwisc.com), as well as a national speaker for Creation Ministries International (the worlds largest Creation organization). I also served as President of the Creation Science Society of Milwaukee for 3 years. Regarding my academic background, I have degrees in Physics and Engineering and have been speaking on the Creation/Evolution controversy for over 23 years.

My personal interest in creation and the inspiration of Scripture came when I transferred from a small Christian college out of state (where I received my degree in Engineering) to a large state university here in Wisconsin (where I received my degree in Physics). All of my science professors at the state university were evolutionists and some were atheists. I had grown-up in a non-denominational Bible church and believed the Bible to be the inspired Word of God my entire life. In my case, attending the state university did actually not make me reject my faith, but it made me very uncomfortable to be surrounded by PhD scientists who, in essence, were telling me that pretty much everything I believed was wrong.
