God's Mysterious Ways

I usually try to spend my articles giving ideas to nonprofits on ways to expand their outreach, grow their staff and improve their ministry. Admittedly, I have spent some of my time talking about outreach ministries to children with life-threatening medical conditions. (As the parent of a child with a cardiac condition, I hope that can be forgiven.) Recently, two things have come to light that have left me wondering what God is doing in my life and in the ministries I work with.

Ive spoken about Crossroads Medical Outreach a program that will offer Day Camps in major cities around Wisconsin for children with cancer and cardiac conditions. We intend to host these programs at churches so that families can be connected to people who can love them and support them even after the programs end. We do not want to charge the families for the programs, so we are left with fundraising the nearly $250,000 to make this a reality.

We were considering putting the program off until 2011, which would give us enough time to get the financial support in place. However, it appears that God may have other plans for us! We were contacted by a church may have us bring the program to them in August of 2010. We still need to raise about $50,000 over half of that total cost is simply medical gear to make this a reality.
