Removing Life's Obstacles

   Lately, my thoughts are often centered around the question, “Why are Christians not living at the level of faith God has intended for them?” I see it all the time - in the church, in the lives of believers I hang out with, or at small group get-togethers - Christians are often visibly defeated. Even in my own life, I sometimes find myself living below God’s best.  I struggle in areas that I know I have the capability to conquer in Christ.

   Obviously, sin is at the core of the problem, but it is also my responsibility to put into practice what God has taught me. Because of our own ignorance, indifference, or just plain spiritual laziness, we don’t take seriously the dangers and consequences of our sin. This leads us away from Christ and we end up being lulled to sleep by the evil one. When we go about in this state of spiritual sleep-walking, we are not aware of the obstacles that are keeping us from living the way God intended. Because we do not correctly perceive when and how we are being taken out by sin's deceitful ways, we are vulnerable to temptation and frequently give in to sin.  In today’s society, the issues of life have become blurred, and the victory God has given us through Jesus alludes us.
