The Work of Witnessing

   “He’s a great guy…but doesn’t have time for the Bible.” 
   Here we find a “red, flashing light” to every Christian woman. Here we find danger and complexity that should never be overlooked!
   This scenario is a common phenomenon in our culture today. It is the couple who is “unequally-yoked” (one partner is Christ-centered, and the other is not). This spiritual divide in a marriage is not God’s intention, nor His desire. God is fully aware of the “dangers” ahead for such a relationship…and for any future children.
   There are two, common myths that surround this scenario. The first is that -- “It is no big deal…we’ll work it out.” The second is -- “He’ll change once we get married.”
   The second myth actually may have partial hope, tied to Scripture.  Consider the words of the apostle Peter, in his brief expose’ on marriage, found in his first letter. He said this:
   “Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.” (3:1-2; also see 1 Corinthians 7:14).
