Radio Station Stands Up for the Truth, Pulls Support from Festival Over Apostate Band

GREEN BAY, Wis.

   A Green Bay radio station made national news recently, when they pulled their support of an upcoming Christian music festival because the event will include music by a band whose leader does not believe the Bible.
   The controversy involves the Power of One event to be held October 11 at the Performing Arts Center in Appleton.  The day-long youth event will feature speakers and music by “Christian” entertainers “Switchfoot” and “Gungor.”  Power of One is an outreach event of Appleton-based Life Promotions.
   While the band “Gungor” has won several “Dove” awards for their “Christian” music, the band’s leaders, Michael Gungor and his wife Lisa have been outspoken critics of Scripture, stating that their theology, over the years, has “evolved.” 
   In an onlie blog, Gungor stated, “"I have no more ability to believe, for example, that the first people on earth were a couple named Adam and Eve that lived 6,000 years ago. I have no ability to believe that there was a flood that covered all the highest mountains of the world only 4,000 years ago and that all of the animal species that exist today are here because they were carried on an ark and then somehow walked or flew all around the world from a mountain in the middle east after the water dried up," he continued.
