Did the Supreme Court Fail Again?

Complimentary Story

Editor, Wisconsin Christian News:
We had come to accept with utmost confidence that this beautiful country was founded on Christian values or principals.   Obviously, most of us believed that these principals reflected Biblical teachings and laws.  We also thought that a democracy is governed by the majority.  Apparently we were wrong.
In a cowardly civil action, the supreme court recently chose to not hear the case pertaining to same sex marriage, banned in the majority of states at one time.   Nearly all of these states had followed God’s law when their constitutions banned same sex marriages. Thus the court struck down again the concept of Christian values being the “guiding light” for our nation, and the concept that we are governed by the majority.
Apparently our constitution, based on the courts actions, does not reflect Christian values.  Hence this court legalized baby killing (choice), sodomy (same sex marriage), and banning of the Lord's Prayer in public places.  Alarmingly, Christian values are loosing ground, while we are yet guaranteed so many freedoms, all of which we take for granted, including the freedom to abandon God.  We know that choice has dire consequences.  So, should we as a society choose to step through the door which the supreme court has left wide open, you ain't seen nothing yet.  The potential horrors that lie ahead, because mankind is inherently sinful, include legalized bestiality, sex with siblings or parents, etc., etc.  There really is no difference in God’s eye, from one sin to the next.  There was good reason for Sodom and Gomorrah's destruction.  The folks in these cities had become so callous to God’s law, that sexual immorality, just to mention one sin, had become a way of life.  Are we all that different today?   A long, long time ago King Solomon, arguably the wisest man to ever live, wrote that history merely repeats itself, that there is nothing new under the sun.   Today we say “what goes around, comes around.”
All of us have to stand for something, or we’ll fall for anything.  As we reject God’s Word, even just in part, we accept His opposition.  It is a foregone conclusion that Satan leads all opposition.  So then, even the “sitting on the fence” position that so many of us claim to be OK, is in all actuality a departure from God.  The act of departing from God on just one issue, is in itself a sinful, placing us squarely in Satan’s camp.
Recent statistics claim that 49% of Americans are in favor of same sex marriage,  a 5% drop during the past 8 months, while 60% see nothing wrong with homosexuality, a huge drop from 73% previously reported.  Of course each statistic has a margin of error.  Also, these statistics were derived from a survey of the general public.  Yet, these are encouraging numbers. They beg the question “have we turned the corner, or are more Christians speaking up?”  As Christians we have the responsibility to believe and support God’s Word.  Once again, we need to remind ourselves that as we abandon God, He will abandon us.  A good question might be “why would we take that chance?”
You have heard that lesbians have come to the point where they are being artificially inseminated (AI) with the sperm of some unknown or strange donor.  Essentially that act is another slap in the face of God, because it violates His will, order, nature or creation, much as all sin does.  Make no mistake, any sin is a “slap” in the face of God.  Apparently these women have no qualms when accepting a man’s contribution to reproduction, as long as he remains unknown.  If we think about it, the resulting children will never have the love of a dad.  But worse, they will be raised by women who have deliberately chosen to abandoned God, and will therefore lead children astray.  She has no inheritance in the kingdom of God.  All that lies ahead is brimstone and fire. Not at all what God had in mind when Adam and Eve were created and told to propagate.
On the other hand, when AI remains the only option within a loving marriage between a man and a woman, I firmly believe God would bless the result.  Potentially that child would be raised in an environment of love, thankfulness and joy, according to His will.  An environment far better than the alternative. There is no comparison, true God given love conquers all.
I have been informed by some clergy that Christ never spoke against homosexuality.  Since we believe Christ is God, He had much to say about sexual immorality.  It is widely accepted that “homosexuality” was first used in the German language during the 1860s.  It is important we do not listen to misguided individuals without getting the facts.  I offer a small sample of Biblical verses which speak of sexual immorality.  The following link will provide more.
http://www.openbible.info/topics/sexual_immorality
Leviticus 18:22 , “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.”
Ephesians 5:5, “For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.”
Why anyone would argue with the point made in the verses above, completely escapes me.
