Racine Reader Appreciates the Work of WCN

Complimentary Story

Editor, Wisconsin Christian News:
A couple of years ago, I was made aware of a monthly newspaper from Marshfield, Wisconsin, called “Wisconsin Christian News.”  At first, I was somewhat reluctant to check it out because of the overload of information the mass media was feeding the public.
One day I finally decided to get a copy of this newspaper.  As I sat in my comfortable chair in front of the fireplace, I decided to quickly page through the newspaper and then throw it out.  To my surprise, I had a difficult time trying to put it down.
The newspaper had a personal, people-to-people and Christian-to-Christian feel about it.  There were many interesting and thought-provoking articles.  I was so impressed that I ordered a yearly subscription the next day.
I said to myself, “these people who write the articles are not afraid to speak out and tell their messages openly and honestly.”  It was refreshing to hear from tenacious patriots for God and country who expressed themselves without fear of reprisal and/or rejection.
The next time I visited Marshfield (250 miles away), I felt I had to visit this publisher to see what kind of person he was ‘in real life’.  As my wife and I walked into his unpretentious office, Rob Pue was busy working on a large stack of paper on his desk for his next edition.
He came to greet us and was very approachable with a pleasant manner.  I was impressed almost immediately by his openness, professional, and somewhat folksy personality.  We had a brief, yet stimulating conversation, as if I had known Rob for years.
Rob Pue, in my opinion, has a great deal of tireless dedication and determination to help others -- to shepherd God’s teachings to others such as me.
It takes a lot of courage, persistence, and strength to put such a paper together month after month with limited help and funds.
It takes a lot of courage because this job can be very lonely -- and somewhat thankless.
It takes a lot of courage in a society that, for the most part, publicly shuns Christ to openly honor Christ with clarity, truth, and compassion.
It takes a lot of courage to preserve the blessings of liberty as described in our First Amendment of the Bill of Rights to the U.S. Constitution.
For all these things, I say Thank You and God’s Blessings.
