Can Satan Read Our Minds or Know Our Thoughts?

Complimentary Story
The first thing we need to understand about Satan is that he is not all powerful or all knowing as is God...and he is not omnipresent.  In other words, he cannot be in more than one place at a time.  God almighty, on the other hand, is everywhere and only God knows everything. Because Satan’s powers are limited he uses his demons to do his spying and detective work.
Is it possible for Satan or his demons to know our thoughts? The answer to that is a resounding NO! The Bible tells us in 1st Kings 8:39 (KJV), “Then hear thou in Heaven thy dwelling place...and forgive...and do....and give to every man according to his ways....whose heart thou knowest....for thou...even thou ONLY....knowest the hearts of all the children of men.”
That tells us that exclusively only God ALONE knows every human heart....no other being has that ability. That means that God knows what we are going to say BEFORE it comes from our lips....even BEFORE our thought is even hatched in our mind. Psalm 139:4 (NLT), “You know what I am going to say....even before I say it Lord.”
In John 2:25 (NLT) it tells us “No one needs to tell Him about human nature.....for He knew what was in each person’s heart.”
Jesus knew the very heart of every person. 1 Samuel 16:7 says.... “But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’”
The Bible does teach us that Satan is a powerful adversary. He was, at one time, “Top Dog” of all the angels in Heaven and he had the persuasive ability to recruit one third of the angels in Heaven to join him in his rebellion as we read in Revelation 12:4 in the Bible. Jude 1:9 (NLT) says, “But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (This took place when Michael was arguing with the devil about Moses’ body.) In other words even Michael the archangel had his hands full when he confronted Satan.
Ephesians 2:2 tells us that Satan is the “the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.”  But we can be very thankful that Satan’s power is limited and that reading our minds is not one of his abilities.
For Satan or his demons to be able to read our minds would take omniscience power that only God has....only God Himself can know our thoughts.
One thing we do know is that Satan and his demons have been watching and tempting human beings since time began so he is very skilled at luring us into sin. We can be sure he hears us when we talk and even without the ability to know our thoughts, Satan and his demons can figure out what we are thinking and use that knowledge to destroy us.
So how can we as human folks best our clever enemy? Is there some way to get him off of our backs? That answer is found in James 4:7b where it says.... “resist the devil and he will flee from you....” Just say “NO” to satan and the Bible says he WILL ski-daddle.
