VCY America Ministries Dedicated to Reaching Youth

Complimentary Story
Many of today’s children live in fear and loneliness. They are exposed to violence in school, at home, and in their neighborhoods. There once was such a thing as sending the kids out to play and telling them to come in when the streetlights came on. Not anymore - it’s too dangerous.
Countless numbers of schoolchildren come home to empty houses while the mother is at work even if there is a father in the home. They know the routine of locking the doors, not answering the phone, and securing a hiding place in case of a break in. Violent video games and obscene television shows are the babysitters these days. There is no one to show them that there is a different path for them to take as they grow into adulthood.
Children are at the heart of VCY Ministries. Several ministries are aimed solely at children to give them a chance to be kids in this unsound world. Each ministry provides teachings into the saving grace of Jesus Christ and lessons on how to grow into Godly young men and women.
There is the safe, secure, and fun environment with sound Biblical teaching at the Trail Ridge Kids Kamp for children ages 8 - 13. For a week during the summer kids can be kids the way it was intended to be. Running, swimming, and making new friends in the great outdoors under Godly adult supervision allow them to be free from fear and loneliness. There is sound Biblical instruction and chapel worship which has brought many children to a saving knowledge of God. This year’s theme is “Voyage to Treasure Island.”
Trail Ridge is set on 385 gorgeous acres in Hillsboro, Wisconsin. There are three camp sessions to choose from for your child. The fourth week of camp is called “Lifeline.” Again this year VCY is working with the Milwaukee Rescue Mission Joy House program to provide a week of camp without charge to underprivileged and at-risk youth.
Trail Ridge Camp is accepting applications now and an “Early Bird Discount” applies until April 30, 2015. Trail Ridge Camp deadline is a firm June 12, 2015. For more information please call 800.729.9829 or email trailridge@vcyamerica.org. Register your child for camp at vcyamerica.org.
Volunteers are always appreciated at Trail Ridge Camp. Adult and teen volunteers are utilized in a variety of roles from kitchen help, grounds crew, lifeguard, counselor, housekeeper, and activities assistant depending on the week’s schedule. An incentive for moms and dads to volunteer is a discount for their campers. The cost for a week of camp is $195 but the fee for a child of a volunteer is only $100. Additional siblings will be charged $140 each. Please go to vcyamerica.org for a volunteer application.
VCY also offers a Birthday Club for children. Each year youngsters receive a birthday card and a surprise gift in the mail. Children receive a special gift upon reaching their 12th birthday when they are known as graduates. This immensely popular club reaches multiple thousands worldwide. To sign a child up for the birthday club please go to vcybirthdayclub.com. Children must be registered a minimum of 60 days before their birthday by their parent.
As a means to reach children in VCY’s neighborhood, the Kids Club afterschool program includes Bible lessons, crafts, games, and snacks during the school year. No one is alone during Kids Club. Newcomers are welcomed throughout the year and bond with the “old-timers” as they get to know one another during the activities. Children earn “Bonus Bucks” by doing such things as remembering to bring their Bible to the Wednesday evening club and memorizing verses. They get to spend their hard earned cash at “the store” or they can put a high priced item on layaway and save their money to pay for it.
Educational and informational radio and television programs for children are on the VCY radio network and television station. Youngsters want radio programs tailored to them if they know where to go for them. VCY radio has programs that allow children to use their imaginations.
The very popular “Ranger Bill” is an ex-marine but now is the head park ranger in the Rocky Mountain town of Knotty Pine. His adventures thrill boys and girls alike. Heart racing escapades in each episode with a safe ending is guaranteed.
Also airing is “Jonathan Park - Creation Adventures” which spreads the message of our Creator and is based on real scientific discoveries. Creation beats evolution hands down.
Saturday radio programs for children also include “Children’s Bible Hour,” “Kids Talk,” “A Visit with Mrs. G,” “Fables of Faith,” “Storybook Room,” “Sailor Sam,” and “Adventures of Patch the Pirate.” The ever popular show which excitedly begins with the “It’s Storytime” exclamation is on every afternoon Monday through Friday.
Not to be outdone by VCY radio the VCY television station offers stellar children programs such as “Sunshine Factory,” “Black Buffalo,” “Becky’s Barn,” “Davey and Goliath,” “Secret Place,” and “Adventure Pals.”
Radio and television program schedules are available by calling the VCY office during business hours at 800.729.9829.
In these perilous times it’s important to reach out and make a child feel safe and secure. Introduce a youngster to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ through one of these VCY ministries.
