Hundreds Gather for Memorial Singspiration

   Following a 15 year battle with cancer, Vic Eliason, Executive Director of VCY America, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 5, 2015. 
   In honor of Vic’s 56 years of ministry at VCY, a Memorial Singspiration was held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 to commemorate his life and ministry. Vic loved to sing and play the old hymns of the faith. He would travel to churches in the listening area to lead these Singspirations introducing many to the classic hymns that have impacted the church for decades. 
   In his early years at VCY, he’d lead singing groups, and he traveled with them around the country to minister to a wide variety of individuals, including inside prisons. Vic played a variety of instruments, and he loved recording individuals at the VCY studios who were committed to advancing traditional sacred music. 
   In Vic’s final days he’d often quote the words to a hymn that reminded him of trusting Christ or relying upon the grace and strength the Lord provided.  The Singspiration was a fitting tribute to his life and ministry at VCY. 
   Directing the music for the evening was Dr. Dean Kurtz from Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown, accompanied by Mrs. Diane Fuller on the keyboard.
