Could Carson Be America's Best Choice for President?

   In a recent speech at Virginia’s Regent University, presidential candidate Ben Carson stated, “I said, ‘Lord, running for president was not on my bucket list.  But if You truly want me to do this -- although pundits say it’s impossible I know nothing is impossible with You -- so if You open the doors I will walk thru them.’”
   Judging by his popularity in the polls, the doors of opportunity certainly opened for Carson.  Voters embraced his candidacy, his past record and his message.  And well they should.  Ben Carson is a true American success story.
   Raised by a single mother in the poverty and ghetto of urban Detroit, Carson went to an Ivy League college, on to medical school and then became head of Pediatric Neurology at prestigious John Hopkins University. A gifted neurosurgeon, Carson earned fame for his work separating conjoined twins.  He is the author of numerous books including his life story, “Gifted Hands,” which was made into a movie starring Cuba Gooding Jr.  
   Unfortunately the media was not as kind to the 64 year old candidate.  They were critical of Carson, searching his past for any evidence of wrong doing and/or distorting the truth.  They even disparaged his wife.
