Wis. Christian Festival Draws From Around the Globe

GREENWOOD, Wis.
   Greenwood, a small town about forty minutes from Marshfield, was recently host to a Christian arts and apologetics festival which drew attendees from around the world.  The first annual event was put on by Athanatos Christian Ministries, which is based in Greenwood.
   Despite being relatively remote in the realm of things, the event brought in people from both near and far.  Attendees came from Texas, South Carolina, California, and Missouri, but they also came from as far as Egypt and Thailand.
   And what was it that all these people came to be a part of?
   ACM’s executive director, Dr. Anthony Horvath, explains, “Our goal was to cast a vision for promoting the Gospel of Christ in our culture through the arts.  ‘Apologetics’ is usually associated with reasoning with people, but we have found that you can’t reason a person out of a position they weren’t reasoned into in the first place.  Many people have absorbed their disbelief from the culture.  That’s why Christians have to be present in our culture, contributing to it in powerful, creative ways.”
   To that end, the festival featured artists of various sorts who worked outside the Church as much as within it.  For example, one of the main musical acts was Sean Michel, someone who once appeared on the show, ‘American Idol.’
