In the Qur’an, not only was the name Jesus not mentioned more than Mohammed, His name was not mentioned at all. In the Bible, Mary and Joseph were instructed to name the baby Jesus as we read in Matthew 1:21: “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus.” (Yesua, the Arabic form for the Hebrew word Yesuah which means Savior), for He will save His people from their sins. If we look for the word Yesua in the Qur’an, hadith, or Muslim scholars’ writings, we discover they never mention that name. Instead they use the name ‘Isā, son of Mary. Why did Mohammed and his scholars use the name ‘Isā instead of Yesua? It is simply because they are talking about a different Jesus. The Jesus of the Bible is the Savior who came to save His people from their sins. He died on the cross, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day. The ‘Isā of Mohammed is a counterfeit of the Jesus of the Bible and a fairy tale. To prove my point, we must examine the repeated counterfeit, fairy tale story of the birth of Jesus in Qur’an 19:16-30.
