Smoldering Hot Spots

Editor, Wisconsin Christian News:
   Seemingly, our nation isn’t feeling the heat yet, but I expect we will soon.  There are plenty of hot spots smoldering in numerous places and more being ignited, socially, politically and economically.

   Then there are the real fires, or were recently, in Florida and California.  No less real are those in cities across this nation;  hot tempers and raging rhetoric, even violence.

   Here at the conclusion of President Trump’s first 100 days in office, his critics are quick to find fault and slow to lend their support.  Bi-partisan governing in the best interest of the nation is no longer a priority.  Partisan politics has become fuel for the fire of divisive ideologies, contrary to that of our founding fathers.  This, in spite of the remarkable road to greatness, which this nation has enjoyed for over 200 years.

   So why change to socialism, which has proven elsewhere to be both unsuccessful and undesireable?  Socialism and humanism combined would be a nightmare.

   Yes, change is needed in the form of morality and spirituality.  The roots of this nation run deep, back to the original colonies, established by Christian immigrants on Christian principals, and great universities, with a spiritual heritage;  now abandoned in favor of “cultural fre ...
