Fighting For the Spiritual Lives of Nearly a Billion People

  Recently WILD Malawi hosted it’s first ever Youth Leadership Conference.  The significance of this event is the uniqueness for African churches to specifically focus on youth in the area of leadership development.  Many churches have had youth conferences, but the vast majority have not had an intentional emphasis  on spiritual leadership.  Throughout the dozen countries WILD is in, churches are asking WILD to come teach WILD’s leadership material to their young people. 

   WILD Malawi is following the lead of several other WILD teams in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast in offering this focused attention on spiritual leadership development.  Youth groups in Africa range in age from 15 to 35.  Many of these young people are getting educated and trained in different areas of society, so that they are being positioned to be influencers and impactors for Jesus in their communities and countries.  By developing the young people in how Jesus led, they are being prepared to fight the good fight when coming up against other worldviews, whether religious or philosophical. 

   When WILD gathers representatives from the countries WILD is in this coming July, one major goal of the WILD Summit in Uganda will be to strategize among the WILD teams on how to connect more with the Christian African young people to help develop and train them in spiritual lead ...
