Turning a Blind Eye

   On Thursday, August 10, a young man just past the age of adulthood was arrested in my neighborhood and charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, one count of maintaining a drug trafficking place and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.  According to news articles, between his primary residence and in his backpack, over 200 grams of marijuana were  found along with an AR-15 with three loaded magazines, a digital scale, packaging materials, cell phones, drug paraphernalia and over $4000 in cash.  Just four days prior to this, my family and I had distributed fliers in the area warning residents about the marijuana pipes that were being sold at the gas station which is literally just around the corner and down the block from the home where this man was found.

   According to sources, there were calls placed to police by neighbors suspecting drug activity at the residence.  Despite this evidently being true since this man was found at the residence with a backpack containing marijuana, a digital scale, and cash, neighbors on a local neighborhood blog apparently seemed more concerned over “busy-bodied neighbors” than the safety of their own neighborhood and their own children!
