Put Those Shoes Back On and Let’s Get Back to Work

   I would say most of you reading this message can relate to hearing the above words before, right?

   This simple message started back in the summer of 2016 while driving up north between work assignments.  Yes, I’m still working part time at the age of 81.  I do reccommend keeping active doing something that demands your mental or physical attention.  It’s not just fishing, golfing or shopping.  I DO, however, encourage us older ones to slow down a little and smell the roses.

   The Lord got my attention with the story of Moses and the Burning Bush, as found in Exodus 3.  The Lord told Moses to take off his shoes, for he was on holy ground.  Now, I knew that message long before I became a Christian 48 years ago, but this time it came across a little differently.  It wasn’t that Moses took off his shoes (sandals), but the putting of them back ON.

   I don’t believe most of you reading this ever gave a thought to “putting the shoes back on.”  Moses wasn’t the same man he was when he took off his shoes.  He met God and was given an assignment:  go back to Pharaoh to “set My people free.”  Has the Lord ever given YOU such an assignment?
