Here's My Heart: A Documentary

Complimentary Story
   Homosexual. Transgender. Bisexual.

Certain words trigger a response in us, don’t they? These are things that I cannot fully understand because I have not experienced them myself.

I am thankful for my friend MJ, a young woman freed from the grips of a homosexual relationship. She has recently launched her first documentary, “Here’s My Heart,” detailing the stories of 12 people, including herself,  LGBTQ at one point in their lives, but not any more.

Here’s another word that triggers a response in most people... JESUS.  He is sometimes also misunderstood because He has not been personally experienced. The “Here’s My Heart” documentary shares the testimonies of people who have experienced both the LGBTQ lifestyle and also the personal transforming power of Jesus.

“The documentary is a miracle because when God birthed the idea in me just over a year ago, I did not have a non profit or anyone partnering with me. So when He brought it to me that started the process of becoming a non profit.,” says MJ, “God provided exactly what was needed to travel to 8 states and film 12 over-comers. All we needed for the editing process, filming process, to be able to travel...it all came through God’s people being willing to sow into this ministry to see revival in the LGBTQ community. They sowed in love, to see change.”

As far as the people that MJ hopes to reach with the film, she says it is “for the Body of Christ; people who have sons and daughters or relatives in the lifestyle. It is a way to encourage, invite, and ask people if they are willing and open to see something in a different way. The primary focus of the film is not specifically to call people out of a homosexual relationship, but rather to challenge each person who watches if they are willing to truly surrender all to Christ. Many have already reached out and had a lot of questions from watching the film. People are really moved to look at their own heart and own life and ask... ‘am I all in?’” The title, “Here’s My Heart,” came from MJ’s own life-changing decision to surrender her entire life to Jesus.

MJ hopes to travel the world, when possible,  with some of the over-comers in the documentary, getting the word out about the victorious power God desires to give to each of us through Jesus and through our own personal surrender. Her most recent stop was Washington DC where she filmed a segment for CBN (Christian Broadcast Network) with three of the over-comers from “Here’s My Heart.” Look for it to be televised soon.

“Here’s My Heart” is currently available to rent through Vimeo.  MJ also plans to get the documentary into film festivals, and DVDs into the hands of people as an evangelism tool. She says, “It will have powerful impact even for those who don’t struggle with homosexuality, but struggle with other sexual sins. Sin is sin..we tend to put homosexuality in its own category of being more difficult to overcome. I was one of those people who was in sin, but is now free. I know there are many many more. We will not win all, but we will win some who are being convicted and drawn to Jesus.”

MJ channels her support through her non-profit, “Uprooted Heart.”  If you would like to partner with her or learn more about the documentary,  please visit her website at www.UprootedHeart.com or visit the uprootedheart Facebook page. She can also be reached via email at:

Having gone to the “Here’s My Heart” premiere; I cannot recommend it highly enough. The film itself is not a condemnation in any way; it is an offering of freedom. Whoever you are... wherever you are... whether you are a lesbian or a Lutheran...you must see this film! It will change the way you look not only at the LGBTQ community, but also will challenge the way you look at Jesus Christ.

Quote from HeresMyHeartDocumentary.com... “Everyone has a story to tell and each story is unique. ‘Here’s My Heart’ is a documentary that follows the stories of 12 individuals who have been transformed by love. A love greater than any can explain or comprehend. A love that breaks chains, heals wounds, and brings new life. The men and women in ‘Here’s My Heart’  documentary unite to share their stories of overcoming same sex attraction and entering into a journey of a life surrendered to Jesus.  Dive deep into the human heart and see the sin condition that innately draws man to sexual sin.  Hear of the redeeming power of a life laid down to free us from ourselves as we enter into a new understanding of freedom through this documentary!”
