WILD UPDATE!

Complimentary Story
In recent weeks the Wise Intentional Leadership Development (WILD) team from Uganda held several trainings.  Here are a few highlights and notice the sections that  are underlined.

Kibale District in western Uganda - The set up and sitting of the participants was in temporal, hired tents which made it so hard when it started to rain, and on one occasion it was hard to continue and we were forced to end the sessions prematurely.  For many of them, it was this experience was their first in life experience to sit under a class-like setting and it was to them like entering a class room for the first time in life and yet they are the leaders in the area.  It was so hard to get to the place where we held the meeting as it was a very remote area with the worst transport system we have ever experienced in our course of WILD trainings.

Accommodations were a nightmare as we came across a dead bat in one of the rooms, it fell from the roof and you can imagine I didn’t sleep well due to fear.

Village of Mubende - We were so blessed to find that most of the older women still remembered what we taught them three years ago and have been running with the WILD materials and imparting it upon others.   We picked four people, testing their ability to teach the WILD Material; they were so good and we are going to go back and spend time training them so they can start to train under supervision till they are well trained, hence reducing expenses.  The main challenges faced included: very long distances on rough dusty roads, on Boda-boda (small motorbikes), as they are one of the most dangerous means of transportation in Uganda with very poor and slippery roads yet some of the bikes we used had no lights yet we travelled a lot in the night.

Youth Arise – Kampala - The Pastors from these different churches called after the conference was closed off and thanked us for teaching their youth leaders.  It is on record in Kampala that most of the youths who have been having great dreams of being good church leaders will either become young mothers or fathers and this has affected their spiritual growth. We therefore shared with them that sexual purity is essential for Christians since the bible says that if you sin sexually, you are sinning against your own self.  We encouraged the youth never to let anyone despise their work in church or even in the community but rather be examples as Paul encouraged Timothy.

Special note : From April 4th through the 22nd, WILD is hosting our Regional Directors, Rev. Henry Mukonda (Zambia), Rev. Edward Baleke (Uganda), David Mulbah (Liberia) and Ram Prasad Shrestha (Nepal) in Rhinelander for strategic planning.  They are available either the mornings or evenings of April 8th, 15th and 22nd. or the Wednesday evenings of 11th and 18th.   These men give a unique perspective of the International Church because they are the indigenous believers living out our missions’ strategies.  Please contact WILD at 715-369-2500 or email at wildministries@gmail.com
