Life is so much like the game of baseball. You’re either in the game or just sitting on the bench, a spectator. Getting in the game is where all the excitement is at. You want to always be ready when your turn to “bat” is called. It’s no more just practice, it’s the “real thing.”
When I “got in the game,” saved in June of 1969, I was really a “rookie,” even at 33 years old. I had “done church” and was some what “religious” all my life. I wasn’t ready for the “Big Leaguers.” I was fortunate to have a good “Coach,” the “Holy Spirit.” Then I found a good Bible church and started “spring training.”
I got comfortable with the Bible. I didn’t always interpret it right and had to accept, “it’s a ball” sometimes rather than a “Hit.” I also “struck out” sometimes. I, too, was a “green horn,” struggling with these guys Saul and Paul. It took a while to “get it ...
