Trail Ridge Camp Has Fruitful Summer of Ministry

   The busiest summer of ministry at Trail Ridge Camp has now come and gone.  This past summer of 2018, we concentrated on the theme, “Character Quest.”  Our campers came to camp in search of Godly character qualities to emulate and ungodly characteristics we should avoid.  That’s just what they found in our 9 chapel sessions every week, morning and evening devotions, and the Scripture memory competition.  In our chapel sessions, campers learned about people like David, Joseph, Esther, Jonah, Ruth, Enoch, Daniel, Noah, and so many more.  The armor of God also provided great talking points throughout the summer. 

   I did mention our Scripture memory competition.  Each week, campers received a sheet of memory verses.  The entire chapter of Hebrews 11, known to many as the “Hall of Faith,” was the first passage to be memorized.  One verse at a time, campers competed to say the most verses every week of camp.  The record number of verses memorized this summer was 142 verses by a single camper!  

   Coupled with this spiritual emphasis were weeks of fun-filled activities.  Campers enjoyed some new activities like Gopherball, Four-way volleyball, BB Gun/Slingshot Range and Hike the Solar System.  The scale model of the solar system covers about a one-hour hike around a large portion of the camp property — all along the way ...
