Returning to God’s Righteous OR Establishing our Own?

   Our faith walk and expectations change as we mature.  If yours haven’t changed, you have cause for concern!

   I have likened the faith walk to going up a stair case, from childlike to a mature faith.  Paul declared his willingness to give his life to teach the good news/Gospel, having had his Damascus Road experience, to reneg on his previous persecution of the followers of Messiah Yeshua.

   “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.  For in it [the Gospel] the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,  as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.’”   (Romans 1: 17-18 ESV).

   It was the phrase, “from faith to faith” that caught my attention years ago. What exactly might that mean? Surely it implies changes! The Amplified Bible expands on the phrase as follows.

   “I am not ashamed of the gospel, [good news of Christ]for it is the power of God for salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes [in Christ as Savior],[with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance ] to the Jew first and also to the Greek.  For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [dis ...
