Where would many of our children who suffer from childhood cancer be if Danny Thomas had not founded St. Jude Hospital? How many children would lose their lives if the advances that St. Jude’s has made had not been shared with other hospitals throughout the country, including our own Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee? In addition to their many other activities, St. Jude holds an annual walk for childhood cancer research.
What about the advances made in Alzheimer’s disease treatment? My own mother had Alzheimer’s disease, and at the time they diagnosed her, there were very few treatments available to her. Now, due to participation of people like you in Alzheimer’s walks, lives are being saved. It costs money to fund life-saving research.
