The Fiery Trial and Testimony of Jeremiah Thomas

   A 16-year-old, star football player, Jeremiah Thomas was diagnosed with Osteoblastic Osteosarcoma (a type of bone cancer). Without knowing how long he had left on this earth, he fought with all the strength the Lord gave him to protect the unborn and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

   Unfortunately, I never had the privilege of meeting Jeremiah, but his testimony changed my life.  When Jeremiah found out he had cancer, he could have used any excuse to stop doing the will of God, but rather, he was determined to fight harder than he ever fought before. Instead of putting his desires first, he put God’s will above all else. A prime example of Jeremiah’s selflessness was when he was approached by Make a Wish Foundation. Jeremiah’s wish was to speak with the Governor of Texas to plead with him to abolish abortion.

   While going through multiple rounds of chemo and radiation therapy, Jeremiah spoke with Texas Governor Abbott. Although he felt sick from treatments and pain from his large tumors on his spine and chest, Jeremiah spoke with great purpose to the governor. He explained to him, his family’s involvement in trying to protect innocent babies from being slaughtered and called on Governor Abbott to pass a bill of Abolition in the state of Texas. A bill to abolish all abortions in Texas is not only Jeremiah’s wish, but it is also the will of Almighty God.
