Every single one of us has had feelings of sleeplessness, anxiety, loneliness, or just plain restlessness during the overnight hours. We might be too tired to read the Bible but we are not relaxed enough to sleep.
People are awake during the middle of the night for a number of reasons.
They include third shift workers, parents walking the floor with a sick child or waiting for a teenager who has missed curfew, people with financial worries, or others with illnesses which makes it too painful to sleep at night, as well as, “night owls” working quietly on a project.
Whenever we find ourselves awake during the night we need and want that human connection and most certainly that heavenly connection with our Creator.
Amidst the cares of the day, we need an oasis which includes a comforting voice, sacred music, and the presence of God.
