Sit at the Feet of Jesus

   “But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to Him, and said, ‘Lord, dost Thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore that she help me.’ And Jesus answered and said unto her, ‘Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.’” (Luke 10:40-42).

   My son Aaron, had just finished preaching a revival service in Wisconsin Rapids. We were invited to lunch by another good pastor friend of ours who lived in the area. There was a man who drove up from the Milwaukee area to attend the revival services so we invited him to go along with us for lunch. While we were driving, this young man began to talk about all the things he felt he needed to do for the Lord. There was a lot of pressure put on him by the pastor of the church he was attending. I could tell by listening to him, he had a lot of confusion in his life because of the pressure to be busy doing things for the Lord. After listening to him for several minutes I stopped him and said, “Don’t worry about all those things that you think you are supposed to be doing. You need to learn to sit at the feet of Jesus first.”
