The Presence of the Lord

   “Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in Thy sight, shew me now Thy way, that I may know Thee, that I may find grace in Thy sight: and consider that this nation is Thy people.  And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said unto Him, If Thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. For wherein shall it be known here that I and Thy people have found grace in thy sight? Is it not in that Thou goest with us?  So shall we be separated, I and Thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in My sight, and I know thee by name.” (Exodus 33:13-17).

   One major thing that has happened in many of the churches here in America is they have been content to continue on without the presence of the Lord. They need to learn from Moses who was not willing to continue on without His presence. It seems many Christians don’t even realize that the Lord’s presence has been missing from their church. What has happened is, somewhere along the line, ministers have crossed from the spiritual to the carnal. I am not saying that ministers and the churches started to embrace sin, but that there has been a subtle shift from depending on God to trusting in men’s ideas and agendas.
