It's Not Luck!

Complimentary Story
Luck. Lady Luck. Luck of the Irish, as they say. Is luck really luck, coincidence, happenstance or is it a planned effort to succeed? Luck could be all of these but it isn’t luck that pregnancy resource centers like Bella are open all over the country to save lives — of unborn children, their mothers from the effects of abortion if they do abort, and families, to save other members of the family from the trauma which comes with abortion.

What do I mean about this? Post-abortion trauma research has shown that fathers suffer from the effects of abortion, not physically but psychologically and emotionally from being unable to save their children. Our national abortion laws have put them in this position. Even if fathers want to save their unborn children and stop the abortion, they have no say in the woman’s decision to abort. In addition, post-abortion research has further shown that children who know their mothers have had abortions — in the case of twins or even single children — ask their mothers if they loved them more or less than the unborn child who was aborted. The children grow up in the shadow of abortion and suffer emotionally.

So where does luck fit into Bella’s success? It doesn’t. It is the result of hard work and planning that Bella exists. It takes devoted volunteers and staff to run facilities such as Bella. In the beginning when pregnancy resource centers first were springing up in the country and in Wisconsin, most of them were run by volunteers who wanted to offer women a place to go for support with pregnancy, rather than an abortion. At the abortion clinic, there was no support except for the abortion option.

These centers started in church basements, peoples’ homes, offices which were donated by those who supported life and wanted to help these centers. You may call it luck that people offered these spaces, but there is a firm belief among Christians that God intervenes when people are doing the right thing — saving lives. These efforts are according to His plan, not society’s. Life is His most precious gift.

Bella has kept its doors open because of people like you, who support life and want to do God’s work on this earth. People actively participate in our events because they believe in life and doing the right thing. They also come from all different denominations. This may seem like a small thing but it isn’t just luck that brings them to Bella. It is a clear commitment to life!

Each month Bella asks for support to continue its life-saving work. Now we not only save babies from abortion, but we also help families with resources, and most recently have added a new ultrasound machine to help women bond with their unborn child by hearing and seeing the baby move in the womb. How marvelous is this technology from even the late 70s and early 80s  when centers first started to spring up.

Now Bella has the capability of STD/STI testing and treatment for women who may or may not be pregnant. By knowing a woman has an STD/STI and is pregnant, delivery methods can save a child from this infection with alternative birth delivery procedures.  Join one or more of our activities to help Bella continue its work.

With God’s and your help, we can continue to save lives, one by one. God bless you and Thank you!
