The Word ‘Gospel’ Means ‘Absolute Truth’

      The word “Gospel” means “absolute truth” when asking what the written or spoken Word is that saves us.  So when God’s written Word says that “God made this Jesus both Lord and Christ,” do you believe it?  When it is said that you must repent, and receive water baptism in the Name of Jesus for the remission (forgiveness) of sins, and then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, do you believe it?  

   If one over analyzes something, they can miss the forest for the trees.  A gift is not required by either party.  The Gospel that Jesus was referring to in Matthew 24:14 is what He authorized Peter to tell us in Acts 2:14-41.  If you have obeyed it, then you have the hope and assurance of salvation when He returns, which is referred to as the “second coming.”  

   There are those who try to wrestle a different gospel of salvation out of the Scriptures.  To believe in Jesus means to believe, and obey everything that He expects of us.  He expects us to obey the message given to us on the day of Pentecost.  We are to accept only Him as the Savior, obey Him as Lord, and repent and be baptized in the Name of Jesus for the remission (forgiveness) of sins.  Then we will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The word “will” ...
