Do You Know Jesus?

   I often marvel at the ease in which my friend, Larry, shares the Gospel with people he meets.  It can be a friend, an acquaintance or a perfect stranger, Larry will simply ask them, “Do you know Jesus?”

   If he receives an affirmative answer the two will share the joy, trust and peace each finds in their relationship with Christ.  If an “unsure” or “no” answer is received, Larry offers words of encouragement for that person to get to know Jesus Christ as he does.  

   Despite battling stage 4 cancer, Larry values the personal relationship he has with his Savior, often sharing with our men’s Bible Study how that relationship and the Bible sustains him during this challenging time in his life. Larry loves spending time with his family and friends, and yes, even strangers.  He values time spent with each of them, as he carries out Christ’s command in John 13:34 to, “Love one another as I have loved you.”

   Like Larry, Jesus loved and valued the people He met during His time on this earth. No matter what their past, Jesus saw the good in people. He spent time with tax collectors, prostitutes, thieves, murders and sinners of every sort, always forgiving their past mis-deeds, just as He forgives our transgressions because He sees the good in each of us.
