In this Scripture, we learn that Paul prayed for the saints who were in the church in Ephesus, that they would know the exceeding greatness of God’s power. That the power would not just be something they heard of, but that they would experience it working in their lives. This Scripture is not just for the Ephesians, but for every believer. I pray every week for the saints in my church that they, too, would know this exceeding great power.
I wonder, if it came right down to it, how many Christians really believe that the Church today can be a replicate of the early Church. I’m talking about the church that had the power and authority of God behind them when they went out to minister in the world. Out of those who believe that, how many are willing to press on to see a Church, like the early Church, rise up in our generation? Many may say they believe it.
If it would so happen that the Spirit would so move us back to the original form and power the Church had, I fear many would back down because it wouldn’t fit in with their religious indoctrination.
