When Jesus came the first time, the very religious leaders, Pharisees and Saducees were self centered and corrupt. They were deceived, false teachers with “a form of godliness, without the power thereof.” (2 Timothy 3:5).
In our present times, there are more false religions and apostasy than ever before. “The god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believeth not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, Who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (2 Corinthians 4:4).
“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.” (Romans 1:22). “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator...for this cause, God gave them over unto vile affections.” (Romans 1:25, 26).
That was then, the time of Jesus’ first coming. So now again, history is repeating itself. When the Church should be the perfect Body of Christ, instead the spots and wrinkles are becoming more and more evident.
This should alarm us at this End Time. We, who are the temple of the Holy Spirit now, again, need a cleansing by Christ, and the “fresh oil” (Psalm 92:10) anointing. How else ...
