We Need a Heart Change

Editor, Wisconsin Christian News:

   In dark of the very recent mass shooting in the Oregon district, I want to offer up what is not a very new solution to what has been an age old problem. Namely, Jesus.

   While listening to the radio, I heard many people clamoring for our governor to “do something.”

I find irony in a community which, like most others in America, cannot get enough of “da wine” asking Dewine or any public official for solutions.

   Over the course of the last couple of decades we have seen a change for the worse in the proliferation of shootings in spite of a plethora of laws and privacy infringement to the point that we, sadly, are in an “impossible” state of affairs, having arrived at the point where these tragedies are common place. We wonder why.  Why?

   Perhaps it’s because we encourage the use of alcohol and drugs and glamorize violence in our movies, music, sports, etc.  There are very few activities in which people engage where there is an absence of alcohol including those which are deemed “family friendly” and we too readily and freely dispense drugs to people for whatever is ailing them.
