Tea or Coffee?

   Are you a tea or a coffee drinker?

   That's a question that people are always happy to answer and usually is a connecting point with whomever I ask. I happen to really enjoy a good bit of both beverages!

   A few years ago I felt the tug of the Holy Spirit to be more bold in trying to reach people for Christ. I felt an equal pull of “fear of man” when I thought about what that evangelistic effort on my part might look like. I’m just being honest with you, friends, and I’m sure many of you can relate to those fears. Scripture tells us that some are given a gift to evangelize — So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers (Ephesians 4:11 New International Version).  But it is also equally clear that we each are expected to spread the Good News, whether it is something we feel we’ve been called to in a special way or not. He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15 New International Version).  The Great Commission is for every Believer!

   For me, the hesitation to be bolder in my faith had several roots.  The primary fear I had was that I would be asked a question that I did not know how to answer.  God put this fear at ease in me with the verse, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the ...
