The Media Mind Massacre

   I have sent numerous messages to my grandkids that go unanswered. Those encouraging kind of messages we like to send before a game, before dance competition, just because I feel blessed they are my grandchild or, to share of the Lord’s love for them. I send pictures of their artwork from when they were little just to show it meant something to keep it. No response. I call and no answer or I get a text back stating they are busy and will call later. No calls back. 

   I was told by one adult child that if I want to know what’s going on in their lives, I need to be on Facebook because it’s easier to post once. Really? Whatever happened to good old telephone calls?  I did relent and got FB Messenger, but they don’t respond to that either. Once in awhile I get a video of a football play, a dance move, a great glove save from my favorite goalie, or a preschool event.

   I was told that one grandson has hundreds of messages he hasn’t read. OK! So? I was told if I want to message him, I need to be on “Snapchat.” You know, the one that you can use for impetuous notions that come across your mind and let everyone know what you are thinking or doing at that very moment? The one that everyone believes doesn’t save images so you can send nude photos, privately. No! Not doing that.
