Christians Should be Winning the Victories

   In these last days the devil is winning too many games, bringing death, deception, diversion and destruction. He wins his Super Bowls full of lies, deceptions and forbidden fruit which he plucks off near-dead branches.  Often the winning play is his scheme to lead astray the minds of Christians from a sincere and pure devotion to the Lord.  This was Paul’s fear concerning the Christians at Corinth (2 Corinthians 11:3).  Today, this lack of devotion to Jesus as our peace, hope, truth, example and Lord causes many to embrace paralyzing fear, discouragement and deception. Faith and boldness comes from hearing, heeding and correctly handling the Word of God (Romans 10:17; 2 Timothy 2:15) and sitting at the feet of God (Acts 4:13-14; Luke 10:40-41).  This has become a lost art in these last days of ear tickling pop theology, pastoral pastries and church theatrical arts.
 
   The Corinthians had chosen to remain as babes in Christ, drinking milk rather than solid food of Scripture (1 Corinthians 3:1-2). It’s not surprising that they were accommodating those who were preaching a different Jesus.  They were accepting a different gospel because they were listening to a different spirit (2 Corinthians 11:4).  Paul reminded and warned them of their evil former state when they had been led astray by the spirit of the age to idols (1 Corinthians 12:2; 10:14, 20-22).  Some were not being taught by the ...
