Where's Our Passion Gone?

   When talking about the Gospel to many people over the years and handing out a personal Bible  tract, I have found that most everyone will listen and receive my tract.

   When meeting some of the same people later, sometimes years later, they pull out the tract they had accepted and say, “I’ve read your tract many times since you gave it to me.”  Many tell me they never have thrown it away and read it at home.  Sometimes I’ve been asked to give them more tracts because they want to give the tract to someone they know.  A few times requests for tracts are by phone and in my mail, “Please send me some tracts.”

   I notice many of the people profess being a member of a church, and the conversation changes from the Gospel to problems of their church.  Membership has dwindled, attendance to worship is down, there’s always a deficit, Bible classes are poorly attended, personal conflicts within the church exist, as well as conflicts with the pastor, and myriads of other problems.  Without saying it, I think to myself, “Hey, sounds just like my church!”  Once they mention the sorrow they feel about what is happening to their church, it’s almost impossible to get the conversation back to talking about God and the Gospel!
