Are Any of God’s or Jesus’ Words Obsolete?

   There are people who believe that some of God’s words are obsolete. They believe that some of God’s Word does not apply to today or that the new covenant made some of God’s and Jesus’ words obsolete. Some believe one particular Scripture verse trumps or in some way overpowers and does away another Scripture. In short, these ideas are absolutely false.  But it is worth reading this article to understand why they are false. People who believe some of God’s words are obsolete come up with many perversions of Scripture and many false teachings, so it is important to not be led astray by people who promote these false teachings. In my conclusion I will also address the one issue true believers should be focused on.

  At Matthew 5:17-19, during Jesus’ sermon on the mount He addresses the issue of His Word. Jesus said that He did not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets but to fulfill them. The Greek word, translated to the English word “fulfill,” means to “bring into existence.”  In other words, Jesus had come to bring the words of the Law and the Prophets to life. He would live them out so people could see what they had always meant.
