
Ecclesiastes 7:2, “It is better to enter a house of mourning than a house of feasting, for that is the end of all men; and the living will take it to heart.”
That is a very difficult verse to read and remember when your year consisted of five funerals, illnesses and surgeries. Interspersed with the funerals, I had a heart issue, my husband busted his femur and our son had a kidney stone that lasted a couple of months.
My heart situation evolved from a surgery I had on it thirteen years ago and as par for the course, the physician never mentioned at the time that I needed to be aware of the condition I encountered last year. Surgery was done to correct that issue but I will never have a regular heartbeat again. When I went back to my cardiologist’s office and saw a physician’s assistant, what I heard was EXACTLY what we’ve all been warned about over and over again: depopulation of this world.
Is that real? Well, yes it is and I witnessed it. As I discussed the irregular heartbeats I’ve been experiencing, he stated “well, we can try to help you at this age, as you’re young yet.
