Biden’s Last Act of Desperation: The Abuse of Preemptive Pardons

In a final, desperate gasp of his presidency, Joe Biden demonstrated just how far he was willing to go to shield his cronies and cement his legacy as one of the most ethically challenged presidents in American history. By issuing a slew of preemptive pardons, including to Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, members of the January 6 committee, and even his own brother, Biden essentially declared that the judicial system exists for the little people—not for the elites who skated by on his coattails. The message is clear: If you’re in the Biden circle of trust, accountability is optional.

Let’s not kid ourselves. Innocent people don’t need pardons. Fauci, Milley, and others are not the saints Biden wants us to believe they are. Whether it was Fauci’s shifting stories about the origins of COVID-19, Milley’s questionable actions during the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal, or the January 6 committee’s blatant disregard for impartiality, these individuals were not handed pardons because of their impeccable records—they were handed get-out-of-jail-free cards because Biden couldn’t risk what an honest investigation might uncover. And his brother? Well, if that doesn’t scream “Biden crime family,” what does?
