“But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their garments and rushed out into the crowd, crying out, ‘Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.’” (Acts 14:14-15 ESV).
One of the things we need to see more of in Church is more people becoming a Barnabas in the life of another believer. Encouragement within the body of Christ and mentorship needs to be more deliberate than it is. I honestly cannot overstate the necessity of encouragement to become more prevalent among the body of Christ. I wish to thank everyone who has been a Barnabas in my life, and I pray we would all become a Barnabas in the life of someone else that God has placed in our sphere of influence.
I was blessed to have just spent the week listening to Dr. Chris Gnanakan, who is the Professor for Theology and Global Studies at Liberty University, and the guest speaker here at the Bible camp I am volunteering at.
