AI and Islam

   A few months ago, I was traveling with my son Caleb to Minnesota and Wisconsin. After many hours on the road, sitting in the car, we began to feel a little bored, so I decided to have a conversation with AI. Using my son’s phone, I asked AI a simple question: “Does Islam teach love and peace?” The answer from AI was “yes.”

   I then asked a follow-up question: “What verses in the Qur’an can you share with me to prove that Islam is a loving and peaceful religion?” Without hesitation, AI answered and said that this teaching is found in Qur’an 2:256, where Allah said, “There is no compulsion in religion.” I stopped AI immediately and asked again, “Do you really see that verse teaching love or peace?”

   Then I explained what I meant by verses that teach love and peace. I said that when I talk about love and peace, I am referring to verses like those written in the Bible. In Matthew 5:43-44, our Lord Jesus taught us, “Ye have heard that it hath been said, ‘Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.’ But I say unto you, ‘Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.’” This is only one example among many other teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus C ...
