In this article I want to try to share some additional hope and information like I did in my recently published book titled, “I Just Said MY Prayers And Showed Up” Former AlcoholismAddictions Counselor’s Experiences, Reflections and Opinions.
This article will primarily focus on alcoholism and alcohol abuse. But kindly allow me to repeat that I am not a spokesperson for Alcoholics Anonymous or addiction recovery either. All I share is what I have learned or experienced.
In this article, I want to share information about AA meetings and specifically the concept of 90 meetings in 90 days. I thought it would be helpful to quote here the AA preamble as it is written and copyrighted in AA literature. “Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.”
