Q: What are some ways our church could do outreach to our community? We want to do more to reach the unchurched but dont know where to start.

A: When considering doing outreach to a community, there are a number of things to consider. Listed below are some of these:
What are the human needs of your community?
Is your church aware of the evangelism opportunities in your community?
Are both hospitality and evangelism high priorities in your church?
Have you identified those who have the gift of evangelism in your church?
Does your church really want to grow?
Is there a particular ethnic group that you can reach out to?
Churches that are truly connected to the felt needs of a community will have a steady stream of people coming to learn more about a church that cares. To determine these needs, you can consider inviting community leaders from city and county government, the school district, and various businesses to a meeting where community needs can be addressed. This groups sole purpose will be to inform your church leadership about the critical needs and unserved groups in your community. You can assume that these unserved or underserved groups will be two-thirds unchurched people.
