How Do I Know What God's Will Is?

I am in my mid 30s and stuck in a dead end job. . . . How do I know what Gods will is?

Whether we are struggling with what our vocation should be or other choices in our life we should always seek to discern Gods will for our lives. The way we discern Gods will is to open ourselves up to hear what He wills for us. God chooses to speak to us in many ways. Here are just a few:
Sometimes God speaks directly to us through divine intervention. When I received my call to ministry, Jesus appeared to me in a vision as clearly as anything Ive ever experienced in my life. He said to me, Feed my sheep and build my church. I understood clearly that I was to go into service to Christs Church.
Sometimes Gods will for us is revealed through affirmation. This can come to us in a number of ways. God may direct us in time of prayer and contemplation to a specific passage in Scripture that speaks to us about what we are seeking Gods direction on. Sometimes God has people we know affirm a direction for us. For instance, 2 or 3 people you know may say to you on different occasions, You really ought to open up your own business with your talents or skills. There are other ways that God can affirm choices for us also if we are just tuned in to His voice.
