Money Matters

   Money and material affluence is very enticing.  If you could only get a little more money or things, you would be happy and content.  You never seem to have enough of it because of the cost of items and the devaluing of your money.  Plus for many, the lines between what we want and what we need often gets blurred.  Having money is not a sin.  God has allowed many people to have a great deal of money available to them.  The problem involves loving money and developing an appetite to spend, always wanting more or the other extreme, hoarding your money and not using it for good purposes.  
   No matter what part of the world you consider, many people struggle with the accumulation of wealth.  There are people who do not struggle with their money and that is because of their attitude, they do not love it (1 Timothy 6:10).  Rather they use their money to help others and their attitude toward money is they are content, feeling you are satisfied with whatever amount of money or things you have available to you.  
   Jesus dealt with the issue of money quite a bit.  In Matthew 6:19-24, Jesus warned us of where we need to place our focus with money and material accumulation.  If our goal is to get as many treasures (money, material items, wealth) to try to satisfy ourselves and the attitude of making the accumulation of wealth our goal, our focus wlll not be on heaven and purs ...
