The Power of Prayer: Examining the Lord’s Prayer

   The power of prayer is often overlooked and misunderstood, even among Christians. Most of the time that we, as believers, go to the Lord in prayer, it can look like we are taking a shopping list to the Lord, rather than being prepared for a conversation with our Father.  The power of prayer is partly in the willingness to ask, and that requires faith, but too often, all we do is ask for what we want rather than what we need. We can forget that the real power comes when we ask in faith with a will that is aligned with the Lord's will. When our will aligns with the will of the Lord Jesus Christ in prayer, and we ask in faith without doubting, amazing things happen. 

   Prayer is perhaps the greatest weapon we have in the Christian walk. Prayer equips us for the fight against the enemy, and it grounds us in our relationship with the Lord. Prayer is an offensive weapon, a defense weapon, a means of worship, and a means of communication. Prayer is the world’s first high speed global communications system. We can have immediate access to the throne of God by prayer. Through prayer we can reach and have an effect on another believer anywhere in the world. The power of prayer is AMAZING and limitless.
